In different periods the city was a part of different states, which affected its architecture, ethnic and ethnic composition, traditions and customs of the population. It blended Ukrainian, Hungarian, Polish, Austrian and other cultures, and made the city so different and unique. The city is decorated with two medieval castles Mukachevo or Palanok (XI century) and Chinadievo (XV century). But if the castles were necessary for waging wars, then for a secular life, feudal families tried to build a more peaceful, but at the same time grandiose palatial houses. Large territories, houses , luxury in the interior of the péalaces, originality and variety of architectural styles with the external equipment of houses – all this is inherent in the noble palaces of the families of Shenborn (Karpaty) and Rakoci (Mukachevo).
